Byju’s Journey from Humble Beginnings To Soaring Success
- Teacher-turned-entrepreneur Byju Raveendran started his journey in the coastal village of Azhikode in Kerala.
- He went to a Malayalam medium government school where both of his parents were teachers.
- Then he went on to study mechanical engineering and later started working as an engineer with a Singapore-based shipping company.
- During his trips back home, he started helping his friends prepare for the CAT (Common Admission Test).
- Byju himself took the entrance test twice and scored 100 percentile on both occasions and got interview calls from the prestigious IIMs.
- In 2005, Byju quit his job and started teaching MBA aspirants.
- His popularity as a teacher soared and in 2011, he launched his company Think and Learn Pvt. Ltd. (Parent company of Byju’s).
- In 2015, the startup launched its elearning app that offered personalized learning programmes for students.
